The Legionfarm platform is used by gamers from 50+ countries around the world. We are a USA-based company, headquartered in San Francisco, with an operating team in Moscow, Academgorodok and Singapore, employing 85+ people in total.
Legionfarm is seeking its in-house Head of Legal who will oversee a team that provides expertise and guidance. A significant part of this role will involve maintenance of the legal and document activity of companies in the US, Singapore, Estonia and Russia.
Position will coordinate legal support for for-profit investments and other activities globally. This position will report to the Head of Finance & Operations and provide a key strategic, legal perspective to LegionFarm more broadly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of the operational activity of companies in The USA, Singapore, Estonia and Russia.
- Preparation of the legal framework for the Board of directors and other management decisions.
- Review of the corporate documents for the purpose of legal compliance.
- Preparation and improvement of the service agreements with the professional players.
- Maintenance of the agreement signing process with counterparties (analysis of the company’s rights and obligations, sensible mitigation of possible risks).
- Maintenance of other operational activities where legal opinion is needed.
- Preparation and improvement of the intragroup agreements in accordance with the target group structure:
- Service agreements;
- Agreements with employees;
- Agreements with contractors and freelancers; ;
- Transfer of IP rights agreements.
- Analysis of agreements with investors.
- Regular audit of the company’s compliance with covenants set up in currently active agreements.
- Preparation of the internal policies aimed at IP rights protection.
- Adjustment of company charters/bylaws.
- Registration of trademarks (USA).
Knowledge of basic corporate taxes and would be an advantage.
Approximate profile of an ideal candidate for this position:
- Bachelors of Law degree.
- Relevant experience of 3-6 years in the IT field.
- International legal and granting experience, ideally in-house.
- Demonstrable ability and desire to work with collaborative teams globally; high affinity for working in a multicultural, distributed environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present legal concerns to a non-legal audience.
- Strong document management and organization.
- Flexibility and adaptability commensurate with working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, startup environment.
- Professional, courteous and approachable.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to exercise patience and work collaboratively with colleagues and executives around the world.
- Desire to build something from scratch, wear multiple hats and maintain policies and processes over time.
- Ready for occasional travel envisaged.
