Mission
We’re looking for a Product Manager for the Vendor Management Team to join Smartcat and improve the day-to-day product experience for all the participants of our Marketplace (Language Service Providers, End Customers, Freelancers). We need a user advocate who is passionate about making products better, and whose analytical thinking allows them to absorb the feedback, get to the bottom of a problem, and present unambiguous solutions that align with the overall product roadmap. Beneficial will be: UX knowledge and technical background to be able to speak developers' language and understand the technical complexity of the product.

Your outcomes

  • Meet quarterly plans on revenue generated by vendor management services.

  • Automate vendor supply system on Smartcat platform (considerably reduce time for manual operations of Vendor management team, suggest AI solutions for better freelancers’ suggestions for projections).

  • Language quality assurance : considerably improve set of tools that Smartcat provides for clients and translators to maintain quality of translation.

  • Build a team of 5-star pros under your leadership (hiring, coaching, career pathing).

  • Handle customer SLAs and the most important internal metrics, such as the time from a customer request to the assignment of a job to a supplier, supplier/customer retention, quality satisfaction, etc.

Requirements:

  • Business logic behind all proposals and management decisions. Ability to answer questions “why” to your employees, colleagues, partners, and customers.

  • Effective collaboration with the folks in our sales, marketing, and product teams to achieve quarterly revenue goals and other key metrics.

  • A data-driven approach to business. You need to be ready to let the numbers speak for your success, and be on top of business analytics, forecasting, satisfaction surveys, and reporting.

  • An easy-going personality and high tolerance for different cultures. We love our users (who live literally everywhere), and they love Smartcat people more than just the solutions we offer. We want to nurture this mutual love and grow with your help.

  • Excellent communication skills to navigate colleague, customer, and partner interactions. We operate in a niche global industry ($45 bln) where trust and good relations matter.

  • Proactively consolidate, improve and strengthen the freelancer database, and evaluate and track vendor performance.

  • Collaborate with our other sales, customer success, marketing, and product teams to improve vendor management services and processes.

  • Readiness to work in a highly intense startup environment requiring extreme focus, a sense of urgency, and persistence to break through.

  • Ability to deeply understand the Smartcat product strategy and the platform’s functionality. We are building a market network for the global language industry while engaging several sides of the marketplace and running several products combined in the all-in-one platform offering.

  • At least 2 years of experience working as a product manager or a product owner.

  • Experience working with software developers and driving product development from inception and design to delivery and analytics.

  • Fluent Russian and English, both written and spoken.

  • Growth-oriented mindset.

  • Integrity, full commitment, and a strong sense of ownership.

  • Openness to feedback and alternative opinions and ideas.

  • Comfortable working with remote teams across time zones.
