The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in a Venture Studio plays a pivotal role in driving the technical vision and execution of multiple startup projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities
Define and oversee the technical strategy for multiple portfolio startups, ensuring alignment with the Venture Studio's overall mission.
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to give portfolio ventures a competitive edge.
Develop scalable architecture frameworks adaptable to various startups' needs.
Lead ideation and technical prototyping for new ventures, ensuring feasibility and market fit.
Collaborate with founding teams to design Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and scalable tech solutions.
Oversee the development lifecycle from concept to deployment, ensuring speed without sacrificing quality.
Build, manage, and mentor multidisciplinary technical teams across various startups.
Establish best practices in software development, project management, and team collaboration.
Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and agile problem-solving.
Ensure high standards for security, reliability, and scalability across all technical systems.
Implement cost-effective and resource-efficient solutions for startups in various stages.
Build processes to optimize resource allocation across ventures.
Collaborate closely with studio leadership, venture founders, and external stakeholders.
Communicate technical strategy and progress to investors and advisory boards.
Act as a technical partner to founders, advising on product-market fit, scaling, and future-proofing.
Design and implement shared technology infrastructure for cost and time efficiency across ventures.
Build partnerships with tech vendors, cloud providers, and consultants to optimize technology stacks.
Create playbooks and frameworks to streamline technology development for future ventures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Experience as a CTO or in a senior technical leadership role within startups or innovation hubs.
Track record of building and scaling digital products, platforms, or services.
Familiarity with the venture-building process and startup ecosystems.
Expertise in modern programming languages, cloud platforms, and scalable architecture.
Deep understanding of Agile, Lean Startup, and DevOps methodologies.
Proficient in designing and deploying MVPs and managing technical debt.
Strong leadership skills to manage and inspire teams across ventures.
Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Fluent English - is a must.
International experience - is highly desired.
