The Head of Sourcing is responsible for overseeing the procurement and sourcing strategies that ensure the company has access to the highest quality materials at the most competitive prices. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the fashion and textile industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors. The Head of Sourcing will work closely with other departments to align sourcing strategies with the company s production and overall business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Relationship Management: Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiations and terms, to optimize cost efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with production and design teams to ensure materials meet product specifications and quality standards.
- Market Analysis: Continuously assess market trends and emerging suppliers to maintain competitiveness and innovation in material sourcing.
- Supply Chain Management: Monitor and manage the supply chain to ensure timely delivery of materials and minimize production delays.
- Budgeting and Financial Planning: Oversee budgeting and financial planning related to material procurement, ensuring alignment with overall company financial goals.
- Sustainable Sourcing Practices: Implement sustainable sourcing practices that align with the company's environmental and ethical standards.
- Risk Management: Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions.
- Documentation and Payments: Oversee documentation, payments, and maintain a procurement calendar.
- Costing Analysis: Conduct open costing analysis to manage material costs and ensure product profitability.
- Margin Control: Manage and optimize product margins to meet financial targets.
- Process Standardization: Standardize production processes and refine collaboration with factories, including lead times and stage-by-stage timelines.
- Quality Control: Ensure product quality through systematic collaboration with factories and the organization of processes and activities aimed at continuous quality control.
- Global Sourcing Expansion: Expand the range of countries where orders can be placed, ensuring a truly global sourcing function.
- International Logistics Management: Take responsibility for international logistics, focusing on efficiency and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or supplier relationship management, preferably in a manufacturing, fashion, or consumer goods industry.
- Strong experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization.
- Proven track record of managing end-to-end supply chains, sourcing strategies, and international logistics.
- Experience working with global suppliers and vendors, particularly in diverse sourcing regions.
- Familiarity with budgeting, financial planning, and margin control to ensure product profitability.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management principles, and cost analysis.
- Ability to analyze market trends, supplier performance, and cost structures to drive strategic decisions.
- Experience in sustainable sourcing practices and supplier compliance with environmental and ethical standards.
- Expertise in quality control processes, ensuring compliance with product specifications.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, logistics, and import/export processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and data analysis tools to track supplier performance and financials.
- Strong contract negotiation skills to secure favorable supplier terms and reduce risk exposure.
- Experience in process standardization and optimization, particularly in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier relationship management.
- Excellent problem-solving and risk management abilities, with experience in contingency planning.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills to drive cost efficiencies while maintaining quality.
- Cross-functional collaboration with production, design, finance, and logistics teams to optimize procurement and supply chain operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to oversee documentation, payments, and procurement calendars.
