Role Overview
Due to intensive growth of the business, we are looking for a Database Manager to optimise, maintain, and expand our database infrastructure. As a Database Manager , you will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimising databases to ensure seamless data flow across the organisation. You will work closely with development teams, analysts, and stakeholders to maintain data integrity, improve database performance, and develop automation tools. Your expertise in Excel will be critical in streamlining data processes and supporting business intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain company databases to ensure reliability, security, and efficiency.
Optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices for data management.
Develop and automate data processing workflows for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
Manage and structure data using Excel , including advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, and visualization tools.
Maintain and optimize Notion as a central knowledge base, ensuring structured data organization and accessibility.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Perform database backups, recovery processes, and version control.
Develop and document database management procedures and best practices.
Work with APIs and integrate various data sources into a unified database system.
Develop and manage business intelligence dashboards and reports using Metabase .
Enhance and optimize BI solutions for effective data visualization and decision-making.
Work on ETL pipeline development and data preparation for BI analysis.
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar).
Advanced Excel skills , including VBA, pivot tables, and data visualisation.
Strong understanding of database security, data integrity, and performance optimization.
Experience with automation tools, API integrations, and ETL processes is a plus.
Ability to analyze complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
Experience with Metabase for data visualization and analytics.
Familiarity with other BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Google BigQuery, Azure SQL, etc.).
Knowledge of data warehousing, business intelligence tools, and dashboard creation.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
