We are seeking a highly skilled Cards Product Manager to join our dynamic team at The OneGate Group. As a key member of our cards department, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technical implementation and business requirements for our card products and services. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a background in both business analysis and DevOps practices, coupled with a deep understanding of the cards and payments landscape.

Role Description

The Cards Product Manager will be responsible for analysing business needs, translating them into technical requirements, and ensuring the smooth implementation and operation of our card systems. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in our card products and services, leveraging both business acumen and technical expertise.

This position reports directly to the Head of Cards.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

• Analyse and interpret technical documents such as Integration Guides and API specifications to inform implementation strategies.

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for card product features and enhancements.

• Conduct gap analysis between current systems and desired functionalities to identify areas for improvement.

DevOps and Technical Implementation

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of new card features and services.

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for card-related systems and applications.

• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation in card processing and management systems.

Product Development Support

• Assist in the development and launch of new card products, including co-branded partnerships.

• Provide technical insights to support the creation of crypto related debit cards.

• Collaborate with the product team to define and implement card-specific KPIs and metrics.

Process Improvement and Automation

• Identify opportunities for process automation in card operations and implement solutions.

• Develop and maintain documentation for card-related systems and processes.

• Lead initiatives to improve system reliability, scalability, and security for card services.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure all technical implementations comply with relevant regulations, including PCI-DSS, AML, and data protection laws.

• Collaborate with the risk department to implement and maintain fraud detection and prevention systems for card products.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating clear communication of requirements and solutions.

• Provide regular updates to the Head of Cards and other senior stakeholders on project progress and system performance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps or business analysis roles within the fintech or payments industry, with a focus on card products.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in programming languages relevant to financial systems.

• Understanding of cloud platforms and containerisation technologies.

• Familiarity with API integration, microservices architecture, and database management.

Industry Knowledge

• In-depth understanding of card payment systems, including credit, debit, and prepaid card products; card-to-card transfer systems and card top-up mechanisms.

• Knowledge of card scheme regulations (Visa, Mastercard) and payment industry standards.

• Strong familiarity with instant payment systems (Faster Payments, SEPA).

• Understanding of emerging trends in technologies in the payment industry, such as tokenisation, open banking, blockchain and cryptocurrency applications in traditional finance, biometric authentication for payments.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing innovative solutions to technical challenges.

Communication Skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in creating detailed technical documentation and business requirement documents.

Language Skills

Advanced level of English required.
